Manhal Baresh is a Syrian journalist and researcher based in London.
He is a founding member of the Syrian Memory Project at the Arab Centre for Research and Policy Studies in Doha, where he was leading the Testimonies and Oral History team, 2019-2024.
He was a fellow researcher in the “Wartime and Post-conflict in Syria” (WPCS) project, at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies, European University Institute.
He has published extensive research and policy papers focusing on military and para-military groups in Syria.
